The creators at http://iheartsapphfic.com, asked readers on Goodreads, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to nominate their favorite Sapphic Coming Out stories. On February 2, 2023, we were notified that Shay’s Gamble had been nominated and was in the running.
Voting opened for readers to cast their ballots for the nominees. Voting could be done daily through February 18th. The results were announced February 22 and Shay’s Gamble rose to the top, taking third place overall!
Big congratulations to Hayley Cass and Emily Banting, first and second respectively. Many thanks to all the readers that made this honor possible. Truly honored to even be nominated, much less place as a finalist. This recognition truly means so much. Even though Shay’s story isn’t Amber’s, the emotions and worries behind her coming out were very much the same.
